Unreal Engine

Take a look at my updated Unreal Engine reel, where I demonstrate my expertise in various areas, including game development, ability systems, technical art, animation retargeting, animation blueprints, cinematics, lighting, combat and enemy design, state and behavior trees, weapon systems, ragdoll physics, cloth simulation, character dynamics, and special effects.

UNREAL FELLOWSHIP

Samurai Dojo (Fighting Game)

I’m excited to share that I’ve completed Unreal Fellowship for Games! Given the theme of Arcade games, I chose to push my limits and take on the challenge of creating a Fighting Game, which is one of the most complex genres in game development!

In just three weeks, I built the entire game logic using blueprints and state trees, and all the character moves were created with the game ability system. The video showcases my project and the result of those intense weeks.

UE5 Third-Person Shooter

Game Prototype

I developed this game prototype as a personal project in my free time, often working on it late at night before bed. It served as a valuable way to hone my skills in game mechanics and content management. I integrated the Gameplay Ability System (GAS) for multiple features, and particularly enjoyed creating the boss behavior tree and implementing the motorcycle mechanics. Building this prototype was a rewarding and enjoyable experience!

UNREAL ENGINE 4.25

Game Prototype Using Blueprints

I've been working on this game prototype since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, dedicating around three hours each night to deeply explore Unreal Engine. This demo draws inspiration from the Resident Evil franchise, with my primary focus on designing a gameplay system entirely from scratch using blueprints. The demo is still a work in progress, and there’s a lot I want to learn, particularly in developing the AI system. Once I complete the game system, I plan to create original assets and turn this into a fully playable game. I hope you enjoy the demo—thanks for watching!

UE5 Early Access

Shadow - Game Prototype

I've been prototyping a Samurai-themed third-person adventure game in UE5 Early Access. It's still in the very early stages, but I'm excited to share more updates as the project evolves! Stay tuned for future developments.

UE5 Early Access

MetaHuman x Lumen (Lighting Study)

METAHUMAN x LUMEN IS ABSOLUTELY UNBELIEVABLE!! Check out this lighting study I created using UE5 Early Access. It’s all achieved with just one directional light, while Lumen handles the rest! Fifteen years ago, during my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts, my photography professor taught me how to capture black and white portraits using a single constant light. He emphasized how the angle of light can completely alter the meaning of a photo. I share this story because this is the first time I’ve been able to explore this concept digitally and in real-time within Unreal Engine! Huge thanks to MetaHuman and Lumen for making this possible!

UE5 Early Access

Nanite x Lumen (Still Life)

NANITE x LUMEN IS ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! This is a true game-changer, and UE5 is set to revolutionize not just the gaming industry, but also film, TV, and commercial production. I created this entire scene in under 3 hours, featuring thousands of polygons powered by Nanite. The setup uses only one directional light with two bounce lights, yet the scene runs at 60fps in 4K resolution. I'm editing the video in real-time with everything set to maximum quality—no light baking, no LODs, no rendering. Isn't that mind-blowing?

UE5 Early Access

Lumen Using One Light Source

Like everyone else right now, I'm diving into UE5 Early Access, and I have to say—Lumen is absolutely mind-blowing! I built this scene in under an hour using just one directional light, and Nanite's performance is equally impressive. Epic Games, you’ve truly changed the game—fantastic job!

Ray Tracing (Test 1)

I'm convinced that Unreal Engine is the future of cinematography, and with the release of UE5 next year, the film industry is set for a major transformation. Its ability to handle billions of polygons and support fully dynamic global illumination in real-time is groundbreaking! A month ago, I committed to investing 1 to 2 hours each night into self-learning Unreal Engine, focusing on cinematics since I have a background in filming and cinematography. I've completed a few cinematic tests in Unreal Engine so far, and I'm truly impressed with the real-time quality I can achieve! There's still so much to learn, but I'm pleased with my progress in just one month. Here’s one of my tests—I'll be sharing more on my YouTube channel soon. I'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments below! The scene features fully dynamic lighting, Ray Tracing enabled, and runs at 24fps on a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. The assets are from the Epic Games Marketplace, the animations are from Mixamo, and of course, the music is by Madonna!

Ray Tracing (Test 2)

Here’s my second Unreal Engine Ray Tracing test! I'm truly amazed by the real-time quality I’m achieving straight out of the engine. The scene features fully dynamic lighting and runs at 24fps on my GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. I could easily bump it up to 60fps by lowering the reflection quality! The assets are sourced from the Epic Games Marketplace, the animations are from Mixamo, and, of course, the soundtrack is by Madonna!
